After Tarsus American High School, she graduated from Istanbul Technical University Chemical Engineering department. She started her career at Eczacıbaşı Baxter and after working for two years, she got her post graduate degree from Imperial College, United Kingdom. In 2005, she started at BASF in sales where she worked in many different business units such as automotive, refinery, detergent, textile, paint, adhesive and packaging in management positions covering various countries. Market Development and Sustainability activities are currently managed by her for emerging markets (Middle East, Africa and CIS Countries). Mübahat Akgün is also the Managing Director of BASF Innovation Technology Center, which has nine laboratories serving different industries with its research, development and innovation activities.
